Too much sleep? Should I wake my toddler? – Sleep Talking Tuesday Q & A Answer

Jen Varela answers the Sleep Talking Tuesday Question: My 22-month-old now sleeps 11 hours at night, sometimes 12. Then most days take a 2 to 3-hour nap, is that normal? Spoiler Alert: Let that baby sleep! You have a good sleeper, and with the proper sleep hygiene and routine, many parents can achieve the same success!

While the National Sleep Foundation recommends 11 to 14 hours of sleep in a 24-hour window for 21-month-olds, they also advise it may be appropriate for your child to get 15 to 16 hours of sleep. This is not a typical question we see, but it is a wonderful, encouraging sleep success story!

Every Tuesday Jen takes questions on Instagram and Facebook and shares the answers on her Instagram stories, Facebook stories, or as a Youtube video like today.
