Moving from the crib to a toddler bed.

Do you need to move your toddler to a bed?

We want to make this transition as easy as possible for your family and cause minimal disruption to your child’s sleep.

In this masterclass, you’ll learn;

~ The gentlest way to make the transition from crib to bed.

~ How to manage when your toddler keeps getting out of bed.

~ What you don’t want to do!

If your toddler is climbing out of the crib and you’re not quite ready for them to be in a bed, there are a few things you can try before moving to a bed.

Make sure that the mattress is on the lowest setting.

Don’t have anything in the crib your child can use to climb on, and give them a few inches. Remove pillows, blankets and stuffed animals.

Pop your toddler in a sleep sack; there won’t be enough fabric for them to lift their leg up to the rail. This won’t help if they leap up and launch themselves over. If they unzip the sleep sack, you can try popping it on backwards.

Remain out of the room with the door open a crack. When you see them trying to climb out, firmly remind your child that it’s time for them to be in bed. Hopefully, that will be enough for them to stop. You may need to remain by the door for a little while until your child falls asleep. When they learn that they’re not going to be able to climb out of bed, they may stop trying.

If they continue climbing, it’s time to move to a bed.
