Managing Sleep During Holiday Travels and with Family Expectations

Managing our children’s sleep during holiday travels can be… well, exhausting. You may be preparing to take your family on a long car ride or be flying somewhere. Your travels may be taking you to stay with family or to stay in a hotel. Some children will be sleeping in their own room during these travels and some of you will need to room share. And on top of everything else, you may be traveling to a different time zone.

Not only are you trying to figure out naps while you’re driving or flying, but you likely have family members who expect you and your children to be certain places at certain times. These expectations can throw off nap timing and bedtime. I am sharing tips to help you with all of these different travel scenarios along with my advice on managing family expectations.
